The disc is on schedule for a June 9 street date via Hellcat/Epitaph Records and the band’s ninth studio album finds them reuniting with Epitaph Records founder Brett Gurewitz, who produced the new album.
To whet your appetite for what’s to come, Rancid just unleashed the video for their new song “Ghost of a Chance,” which can be viewed above. The band’s undeniably catch and energetic guitar and drum work gives an upbeat feel set against lyrics that are a little less optimistic.
In the song, Tim Armstrong reminds the listener, “Maybe someday we’ll get a new start / You never grow too old to dream / Save the sermon for Sunday / We’ll be back one day / You’ve only got a ghost of a chance, my brother / You’ve only got a ghost of a chance.”
The clip itself finds the punk vets right at home, rocking out in a garage.
